Today I really began to explore a new learning service called "LearnVisualStudio.NET". (OK, actually I found it yesterday and took a peek at one of its "video articles", but I didn't really start to delve into it until today).
All that aside, my first impressions of this site are that I really like it. It appears to be very well suited for absolute beginners, which obviously I am not, and I'm hoping its depth of article coverage will be the same for more experienced programmers as well.
Right now, I'm looking to learn a lot of new and different things. Obviously I really like learning stuff that will have a direct impact on my job, but it's also nice learning things that have little to do with my job as well.
I'm also looking at joining one or more User groups in my local area (that is Louisville, KY for anyone reading this post that doesn't know me). I'm hoping to find an actual Developers group, but I have at least found a Sharepoint group that I will potentially start attending on a regular basis shortly. Even though my current job doesn't involve any work with SharePoint, there is a large initiative within the company I work for to use SharePoint technology as the backbone architecture in its latest product offering.

Improvement in developing reusable UI controls
Today the development of reusable UI controls finally began to "click" for me. I now have a good enough understanding of public properties accessible through Interfaces to construct a reusable UI control at will.....More to come! :)
First Time
This is my first ever forray into blogging so I'm just testing the tools to see what actually does what here...So pardon me if this appears to be a rather stupid/silly post :)
